This weekend is RibFest, sponsored as usual by the Northeast Exchange Club. The festival runs from Friday the 13th through Sunday the 15th, and features great food, including ribs from 13 different nationally known vendors, cold beer, and hot music. Some of the featured bands include The Georgia Satellites, Brett Michaels, 38 Special, America, Three Dog Night, Chase Rice, and Kip Moore.
Many people don’t know that the RibFest benefits local children’s charities, including All Children’s Hospital, Eckerd Youth Alternatives, The Clearwater Marine Institute, and the Children’s Burn Foundation. Over the last 26 years, more than 4.3 million dollars has been donated to fantastic local charities. It is an event that should make everyone in St. Petersburg proud.
Of course, parking will be a hassle. Some parking will be available near Vinoy Park, but most people will park downtown and walk or shuttle to the event. Trying to park free in the narrow streets of the Old Northeast will be an even worse hassle, and there will no doubt be a few people that make the mistake of drinking and driving. The smart thing to do is to call Downtown Yellow Taxi, and let one of our safe, sober, and professional drivers take you to and from the event. No expensive parking hassles, nobody in your group drinking and driving, and fast, courteous service. Party smart- call Downtown Yellow Taxi. 727 379-4440.
